LEMBAS BREAD
Ingredients
原料
6 TBSP (TBSP=table spoon) honey butter*, softened
6匙蜂蜜奶酪(做法附在后面),加热使其变软
2 cups of self rising flour
2杯纯面粉
2 TBSP granulated sugar
2匙普通的白糖(外国的糖有颗粒状的糖和糖粉之分,这里用我们平时用的颗粒白糖就可以)
1/2 cup of raisins (optional)
半杯葡萄干(可选)
1 egg, well beaten
一个蛋,要打得很均匀的
1/2 cup of milk
半杯牛奶
4 TBSP heavy cream
4匙奶油(应该是奶油吧?),其实用浓度高的牛奶也可以代替的
Mallorn leaves (optional)

With a pastry blender or fork, stir honey butter* into the flour in a mixing bowl until the mixture resembles cornmeal. Do this rapidly so the butter does not melt. Add sugar and, if desired, 1/2 cups of raisins.
把蜂蜜黄油和面粉在一个碗中混合起来,用面粉搅拌器或者叉子搅拌直到它们的混合物像粗玉米粉一样。动作要快,这样蜂蜜黄油就不会融化掉。然后加糖,如果有葡萄干也加进去。
In a small bowl, beat the egg and milk together until mixed. Reserve 2 TBSP of the mixture to brush the tops of the LEMBAS. Add the cream and egg mixture to the flour and mix just until combined into stiff, soft dough.
在一个小碗里面,搅拌打均匀的蛋和牛奶直到它们混合在一起。保留2匙这种混合物用来刷在兰巴斯的表层。把奶油和蛋以及第一步做出来的面粉+蜂蜜黄油混合在一起,直到成为粘稠柔软的面团。
Knead three or four times on a lightly floured surface. Roll dough to a 3/4〃thickness and cut with an oval or leaf shaped cookie cutter. Place on a lightly greased baking sheet or ston, leaving of space between each LEMBAS. Brush the tops of the LEMBAS with the reserved egg-milk mixture.
在平整的板上撒上面粉,揉第二步所制出的面团3~4次,用擀面杖擀平,差不多四分之三英寸(1英寸=2.54cm)厚,用卵形或叶形的饼干切割器把面团切开(应该就是那种能让面团切出来有特殊形状的东东,大家如果米有用刀也可以)。放置这些面团到一个抹了油的烤板上面,每个兰巴斯中间留一些空地,并在表面上抹一层已经做好的牛奶+蛋的混合物。
Bake for 12~13 minutes in a preheated 400 degree oven.
在一个已经预热好的,400度的烤箱里烤12~13分钟。(如果没有烤箱,就用微波炉试试看吧)
For safe keeping, wrap each LEMBAS individually in a fresh, clean Mallorn leaf. If these leaves are unavailable in your area, store the LEMBAS in a tightly closed container.
为了更好的保存,每个兰巴斯都单独用新鲜,干净的蔓蓉树叶包起来。如果你所处的地区没有这些树叶,就把它们放在紧闭密封的容器中。
*HONEY BUTTER
蜂蜜黄油
Ingredients
原料
1/2 cup of softened butter
半杯加热后变软的黄油
1/2 cup of honey
半杯蜂蜜
Instructions
做法
Place butter in a small bowl. Gradually add honey, beating constantly until desired thickness. Makes 1 cup of honey butter.
把黄油放在一个小碗里,逐渐加入蜂蜜,不断搅拌至你喜好的浓度,做一杯这样的蜂蜜黄油。
