I watched POTC!!!

Hi, everyone! I went to see POTC last night! The following is what I think about this movie. I am not going to tell you the story because some people may not want to know before seeing the movie themselves.

I can’t get a computer to type in Chinese. If someone requires, I will write another review in Chinese this weekend.

It is a really, really good movie! Fantastic! It is produced by Disney, so it’s a movie for all the age groups. Everyone can enjoy it. I agree with Jay Leno (Tonight show host) who said that it is a good family movie. However it is just a blockbuster movie, not a classic one. Don’t expect to draw some deep thoughts from it. Just have fun.

This movie is a mixture of action, adventure, romance, love triangle, mystery and humor (Hen Gao Xiao de). All the key factors to a blockbuster movie and combined together very well. I really enjoy watching it in the theater, the sea, the ship, the fight, the ghost pirates. Visual effect and sound effect are great. Music is beautiful. So don’t watch it in illegal copy, wait to watch it in the theater. It’s worth it. Otherwise, you can’t enjoy the movie as much as I did.

Let’s talk about OB now. This time he is a big part of a big movie. His character (Mr. Turner) is the center/clue of the whole plot. In my opinion his part is nearly as big as Johnny’s (Caption Jack Soprano). We don’t have to search for him as we did in LOTR. There are a lot of shots on his face. But don’t expect too much, most of the time he is nearly as messy as the other pirates. But if you watch carefully enough, you will find his black eyes are so damn beautiful. He is the only handsome guy in this movie. I bet a lot of Americans will get to know OB through this movie and pay serious attention to him.

In LOTR series, Legolas is a small supporting part and don’t have much facial expressions. In POTC, OB has the chance to show much more expressions, which is good for his acting skills. I can’t say it’s a breakthrough for him, but he did make improvement. However I can still see the shadow of Legolas in POTC.  Maybe it is because I am too familiar with Legolas and  basically they have the same face.

There are a lot of sword fight scenes in this movie and OB is doing great. His character, Mr. Turner is a fine young man with honesty and integrity. He is very polite, gentle, deeply in love and a good fighter. This character will be welcomed by all the audience. OB is smart to take this movie. It will bring him more invitations to huge movies

Johnny Depp did a very good job too. His character in POTC is different from all his previous ones. OB is not yet at the same level with him in acting skills. It’s OK for a rising star. But OB does need more challenging part to practice his skills. We don’t just want him to be a movie star, we want him to be a serious actor too.

The leading lady in POTC is very young and beautiful. I like her. When they kissed at the end of the movie, my heart sank a little. But I still think she worth it. She is much better than OB’s girl friend, Kate in my opinion. OB’s taste is … always not so good.  Well it is none of my business anyway.

Before going to see this movie I was not in a very good mood. But I did enjoy this movie very much because it is really good and there is OB in it. At least it is better than Terminator 3 (I watch T-3 too last night). I hope POTC will be the No. 1 movie this week!

However I already decided to change my focus from OB to Legolas because we will never lose Legolas to some girl. Legolas is always there for all the fans. Women are jealous creatures. I can’t bear seeing OB so close with someone else. I wish him good luck and happiness though. I will still go to see his future movies if they are good. I am expecting ROTK in December and Troy next summer.

BTW before the movie began, the theater showed the preview of Viggo’s new movie (H… something, I can’t spell the title correctly). It seems a fun movie too. Maybe I will watch it in October. Viggo is lovely in that movie.

羡慕ing~~~~~，其实作为暑期大片娱乐性强就行了，不用非得要求深刻，就fans的反响来看应该是很好看的，至少它的题材是暑期档最特殊的一部，希望能带给观众新鲜的感觉。另外可以肯定的是Depp的角色一定是最受欢迎的，从我刚了解这部电影的时候我就有这种感觉，其实Depp是非常适合演这种类型的人物的，因为他本人就有一点神经质，而OB的角色属于四平八稳的英雄形象，在个性上缺少发挥的空间，不过对偶来说只要能看到他耍酷就很满足了。[em00]
不知道海盗的票房会怎样，明天就能知道首映日票房了，另外和7月11日的《LXG绅士盟》比不知道谁会是冠军

本周北美地区 票房加勒比海盗第一，共七千四十万左右，(七月九日上映，共五天的票房。 九日当天单日票房是一千三百多万，相当不错。 )
以首周票房看，如果我没记错的话，它的票房比Hulk和T3都好，就看后劲如何了~~

Depp 很出彩，是绝对的亮点~~
OB的角色是传统英雄，不过他演的得体，虽没Depp惹眼，(外型上， 我个人看法认为ob更好，但以人物总体看，还是Depp出彩~~)但这么好的票房成绩对他今后的发展很好~~
毕竟和魔戒中的小小配角比，这回是第二男主角了
