在最近一届的“坎特伯雷文化奖”公众投票评选中，Orlando Bloom以压倒性票数获选“坎特伯雷文化符号”代表人物这一奖项。

Firstly, thank you to the Cultural Awards since everyone have voted for me.(首先，感谢文化奖，感谢大家为我投票) I have to thank my fellow nominees.（我必须感谢同时被提名的同胞） It’s an honour to be in their company.（与他们在在一起，我感到很荣幸） Tracey Emin who inspires us to be creative and honest（Tracey Emin激励我们创新和以诚待人）; Ellie Goulding, playing aloud, giving love to the world （Ellie Goulding，大声演唱，把爱给全世界）; and if any young actor wants to be inspired by a great icon of the stage and screen（如果年轻的演员想受到一个舞台和荧幕上超级偶像的激励）, look at the work of Brenda Blethyn（建议大家看看Brenda Blethyn的作品）.
All of my first cultural experiences were in Canterbury（我所有的初次文化体验都是在坎特伯雷）, from the Cathedral whose majesty inspired（大教堂的雄伟给人以灵感）, walking the streets, lively with street performers and artists（走在街道上，到处活跃着街头艺术家）. They came first of all, which I always enjoy participating in, the cinema, of course, which then was the old ABC at the top of the town, （首先，是我一直喜欢的电影院，当然那时候还是古老的ABC电影院）where I used to sit in the dark and day dream of being an actor（我过去常常坐在那里的暗处，做着白日梦，梦想成为一名演员）. And then of course, the old Marlow Theatre where I gave my first, and perhaps my most memorable performance（然后就是老的Marlow剧院，在那儿我完成了人生的第一次，也许是我最难忘的一次演出）, at the age of 4, as a monkey（我当时4岁，扮演一只猴子）, I’ll never forget breaking character just momentarily to turn around and scratch my bottom to the great amusement of the audience’s present （我永远不会忘记自己在瞬间破坏了角色——我转过身挠臀部，结果逗得观众大笑）. I am now very proud actually to be a patriot of the new Marlow Theatre （我现在非常自豪成为一名新Marlow剧院的拥护者）. And I’m thrilled that they have bigger and better touring space and new and larger auditorium （我非常兴奋他们有了更大更好的演出空间和更宽敞的新观众席），so that touring shows can come and appreciate the theatre that they’ve created（这样巡回演出能够来此领会新剧院为他们创造的一切）. Perhaps I’ll have to get down there myself to reprise my legendary role as a monkey without the bottom scratching（或许，我会回到剧院再次演绎我的传奇性的角色，猴子，当然这次不会挠臀部了）.
