The director's only previous work is on a crap video game, and that bloom didn't really want to do this film. it will suck.  
有人认为这部片子肯定失败，因为这个导演没有经验，而OB也不是很想拍这部片子。

I heard Orlando Bloom did it because he didn't want his first real lead to be a big budget film with a lot of pressure on it. But it could be good. I mean, even if the plot sucks, there's always eye candy.

I hear it's rated R for brief nudity. I'll say no more.  

针对以上说法不少人提出反驳。比如有人说每个导演都有第一次，不能认为这是这个导演的处女作就认为肯定失败。另外这人听说OB之所以拍这部片子是因为不想自己第一部做主角的戏就是大制作，那样压力会很大（嗯，这点我完全能理解）。何况只要有OB在，哪怕剧本一塌糊涂，至少也有eye candy可以看^O^
另外据说这片因为裸体镜头会分在R级-_-

I was sceptical of this movie at first too but having seen a minute-long clip and rolling about in laughter I think if anything this film will have a few laughs. Of course, pacing and direction of script etc. will not be able to be revealed well in a minute-long clip but god, orlando's expression. It was magical. My friend (an orlando-hater) was giggling like mad at his expression. he had a gum-guard on too. It was really funny.  
有一个看过一分钟剪辑的人说这部片子至少是非常有趣的，因为ta看的时候一直在笑。还说OB的表情非常的“magical”，ta的一个orlando-hater的朋友看了之后都不停的傻笑。

I have seen Calcium Kid

I thought I would just let you all know that I have been privalidged enough to see the Calcium Kid and it is brilliant! It is definately going to be a big hit. There is some very good new talent in it including the Pete Wright Character who is played by up and coming actor Tamer Hassan, also Omid Dejani is fantastic as always. New talent Ralph Spool is great and so is Billy Piper, she looks gorgeous and gives a great 'First Feature Film' performance.
Overall it is a sound and very entertaining film.

I am going to be very interested to see this film as I have the sneakiest suspicion that this films is a bit of a remake of a Danny Kaye movie called "Kid from Brooklyn" - here is the plot from IMDB of the movie

"Shy milkman Burleigh Sullivan accidentally knocks out drunken Speed McFarlane, a champion boxer who was flirting with Burleigh's sister. The newspapers get hold of the story and photographers even catch Burleigh knock out Speed again. Speed's crooked manager decides to turn Burleigh into a fighter. Burleigh doesn't realize that all of his opponents have been asked to take a dive. Thinking he really is a great fighter, Burleigh develops a swelled head which puts a crimp in his relationship with pretty nightclub singer Polly Pringle. He may finally get his comeuppance when he challenges Speed for the title."

However I don't have an issue with a remake of this movie - what can I say Danny, Orlando, it's all good!  这个人则怀疑本片是改编自一部名为Kid from Brooklyn的电影，第二段是那部电影的内容简介。

总之看IMDb上的评论，就像OB自己说的，这是一部很好玩的电影。虽然是小制作，即使不成功也没什么大不了，但说不定会有惊喜。而现在的问题是，这部电影是否会在影院上映？这种小制作的电影被直接打发到录像带和DVD市场的可能性很高。不过如果真的是一部出乎意料的好电影，我们还是可以期待它在大屏幕上的放映的。
