ore Verbinski was the first one to come out. He thanked us fans for making POTC "Our Movie" and really, I think, nailed it on the head while explaining why Jerry Bruckheimer was so successful- he recognizes an audience's need for something new that we can call our own. He also said that Jerry Bruckheimer likes to go to movies he has produced, even though he had seen them a thousand times while they were being made, because he wants to see the audiences react. I thought that was pretty cool.
Gore Verbinski then introduced Jack Davenport, Jonathan Pryce, and Orlando Bloom.
Jack Davenport spoke first, and joked that when he thinks of Jerry Bruckheimer, he thinks of the man who dressed him up like a Mardis Gras float for five years. He also told a story when they first started filming COTBP, every one else was kind of nervous about all the money about to be spent on a pirate movie, but Jerry Bruckheimer was just calmly eating his egg.
Jonathan Pryce came next, and when he said that everyone else had pretty much said it all and he didn't know how better to express it, either Gore Verbinski or Jack Davenport called out to him to do it with a song! He then said that Jerry was a great guy except for the fact that he didn't put any of the three of them in Pirates 4, and encouraged all of us to protest that fact "because there's still time!" Awesome.
Then it was Orlando Bloom's turn. He said that making the movies was a remarkable experience and thanked Jerry Bruckheimer for letting them play pirates. He also thanked all of us for coming out to watch COTBP again. Something really nice that he did as he was leaving was take a picture with one group of fans, even though the security guard wanted him to leave. He is also one of my favorites, and I really wished I was in that group!
Everyone was so gracious and grateful to the fans and it seemed they were as happy to be there as we were.
