This past week I was able to sing in the Cathedral for the second time. The university chorus and symphony orchestra performed on Saturday night. I hope that everyone enjoyed the show. Lots of well known people were in the audience, including Orlando Bloom. He was in the 6th row and very recognizable, even from a distance. But I have to be honest, I'm not really a star struck person. I don't go gaga over famous people, they are just people. I'm sure Mandy would have just loved it! Maybe you can see him when you are here in April; he's from the area.
John Doyle set for 'Main Street'
Director signs on to Horton Foote's drama

British theater director John Doyle has signed to helm Horton Foote's ensemble drama "Main Street" for Reliant Pictures. Lensing is set to launch March 16 in Durham, N.C.
Spencer Silna of 1984 Films is producing with Jonah Hirsch of Fixed Point Films. Silna's partners, Doug Saylor and Adi Shankar, will exec produce.
Doyle won a Tony Award in 2006 for "Sweeney Todd" and was nominated for a Drama Desk and a Tony for staging "Company." He most recently directed "Road Show" for Gotham's the Public Theater. Foote, 93, created "Main Street" after visiting Durham two years ago. Story centers on a diverse group of residents of a small, economically moribund American city facing the consequences of change. Foote won Oscars for penning "Tender Mercies" and adapting "To Kill a Mockingbird."
There was more evidence this week that a film production is indeed getting underway in Durham. Auditions for Main Street were held all week at Durham Convention Center. Two actors confirmed independently that they’d read for parts this week, and that the production is scheduled to begin in April.

Lindsay Lohan showed sister Ali a good time during a night out at West Hollywood's Chateau Marmont — including bumping into Orlando Bloom. Taking a spot on the packed patio with friends, Lohan shared a short conversation with the actor, who was enjoying a low-key dinner with friends nearby. When it was time to go, Lohan and Ali took off hand in hand, bumping into Bloom again in the lobby.

I was walking to the N train and spied Geoffrey Rush (who smiled at me) and Orlando Bloom walking from Exit The King which stars Mr. Rush. Bloom was mobbed with people. He was on the phone and people were swarming him like No See Ums on a golf course in CNY in August. Not paparazzi, just normal people trying to get his picture and Orlando just carried on as if they were not there.
Geoffrey was completely alone. I think he smiled at me because I, realizing who he was, smiled at him. He also STANK like patchouli. This is not a smell I enjoy and it was swarming him like No See Ums on a golf course in CNY in August.
And there is your life lesson, folks.... If you are a celebrity who wants to be left alone, swim in patchouli first. I really think Orlando would have benefited from this lesson. Maybe after he reads this (Hey Orly!), he will know better!
Orlando Bloom, hunkering down for a four-plus -hour meeting at West Hollywood's Chateau Marmont. The British star looked almost scholarly in his jeans and cardigan as he reviewed a big stack of papers and chatted with a female associate over dinner.
New Yorkers are clearly happy for any occasion to let loose these days. Thursday evening, a mix of fashion editors, designers and celebrities ignored cold, misty rain, and ascended to the New York Palace Hotel's rooftop to help Burberry celebrate its new Madison Avenue headquarters and the neon signage crowning it. Champagne flutes were handed out, smoked salmon canapés abounded, One Night Only gave a live performance and there was even a countdown leading up to a light show of said signage, complete with smoke and some enthusiastic cheers.
But as decreed by Mayor Michael Bloomberg, it was actually Burberry Day. And so black-clothed men handed out checked umbrellas so guests like Claire Danes and Hugh Dancy, Lily Donaldson, Carla Gugino, Rose McGowan, Molly Sims and Emmanuelle Chirqui could frolic on the untented, white-carpeted roof and admire the New York skyline.
"I wanted it to feel a little bit glamorous," said Christopher Bailey of his rather brave decor choice.

"Christopher called me and said 'Do you want to come help me light the light?' and I was on my way to L.A. so I thought 'Why not?'" explained the actor of his presence.

But we do have to give props to Bloom for his impressive dodging skills — he avoided a reporter from Fox 5 with moves like a NFL running back.
Mr. Bloom, who stuck around late into the evening, smoking cigarettes, gave props to the company's creative director, Christopher Bailey: “Christopher called up and said, ‘Oh, we’re having a party, and lighting up the lights at the building across the street,’ and asked if I wanted to come along, and I was like, ‘Yeah, of course, man!’ I was on my way to L.A. He’s done a fantastic job. He’s an amazing artist.”
“Yes, Hugh and Claire are good friends,” confirmed Bailey. “And Orlando [Bloom] wears Burberry a lot.” On Bailey’s arm when he arrived was supermodel — and Burberry face — Lily Donaldson. “I love her personality,” he said. “I love being with her.” Once inside the party, Bailey formed an impenetrable clique with Bloom, Dancy, and Daines.
STEPHEN Dorff has a new lady: his own publicist. Dorff, who was last linked with Pamela Anderson, is cavorting with Robin Baum, his p.r. person and partner in PMK-HBH. Dorff was on hand this weekend at the Thompson Beverly Hills to help Baum celebrate her birthday (she's "in her 30s") with Orlando Bloom and Kate Bosworth. Baum, presumably speaking for herself and Dorff, said, "I don't comment on my personal life."
