Great Success
Yesterday (Sunday), our buddhist organization had a big event at the Honolulu Convetion Center. There were 2,500 seats, and most of them were filled:)
At the very end, we also had, to everybody's delight and surprise, a spcial honory guest, Mr. Orlando Bloom:)
You can just imagine the commosion when he entered... All the girls were screaming and ran up towards him. The other members from the Men's division had to suddently move and "protect" Orlando:) It was a pretty funny sight:) He gave an experience and it was a great ending to the meeting.
I had another meeting later that day, an Alumni meeting for Soka University Graduates. Mr. Bloom decided to join us for this one as well, and we got to take a group picture with him:)
After the meeting, I wanted to go home and study, so I left... I was about to make a U-turn to drive home, but suddently got an urge to go back to the culture center. So I did, and was sitting with 3 other members, when Mr. Bloom decided to join our little chat:) He was having a dialogue with us for the next 20 minutes or so, until he had to leave. It was a great experience:) I feel very fortunate:)
I guess, if he weren't that famous, he would simply be a good looking guy, but he sure was a looker:)
We took pictures again, but unfortunately, I can't post them (privacy issues).

A grainy MySpace video posted yesterday shows "Pirates of the Caribbean" star Orlando Bloom, who has been Buddhist since 2004, telling about meeting his sect's honorary president, Daisaku Ikeda.
Bloom and others were in Honolulu last weekend for the SGI-USA's sect's 48th anniversary events; the Soka Gakkai gathering was held at the Hawai'i Convention Center.
